March is the best time of the year to visit Houston: its the annual Houston Rodeo & Fair. It is something you have to experience at least once in your live. So far we've enjoyed it 2 years and plan to participate every year we live here. Essentially there is almost 3 weeks of a rodeo followed by a concert. I expected the concerts to be dumb acts that no one has ever heard of. Nope! These are big named bands that come to perform. Last year we saw Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson, this year we got to go see Janet, Ms Jackson if you're Nasty. It was awesome! It was hard to decided between her and Black Eyed Peas but I have to admit, Janet is waayyy cooler than Fergie with her lady lumps! (If you don't know their music, the last two sentences might be a bit confusing).
While we love the rodeo/concert part, there is also the fair/expo part that the kids love as well. This year we pulled the girls out of school and let them explore!Blakers was thrilled to drive his own car!
Kai wasn't too sure about riding in a pink flying elephant!
There was a terrific 'experience' that allowed the kids to learn about where their food comes from. The boys had the most fun planing the seeds then harvesting their crop.
Blake of course was obsessed with all the monster machines. Any machine he could climb in and drive he did!
There is also a couple different petting zoos. The boys weren't too sure!
This llama had no fear of Tony ... he kept trying to steal the food out of Tony's hand!
Aliya thought it was pretty cool to 'milk' the cow
Thanks for the fun memories Houston Rodeo... we'll be back next year!
